Elmley Nature Reserve is such a special place to stay, to just be. It is a vast wilderness on an island in Kent, just 40 miles from London and with its soul stirring skies, you certainly feel like you're transported to a different place, surrounded by nature in abundance. In summer the reserve comes alive for even more adventures and spaces to stay with the bell tents. There are three areas to stay, the Woodland Bell Tents, Meadow Bell Tents and Sapling Bell Tents, each with their unique views of the reserve. This year a new camping den has been set up with showers, toilets and an incredible camp kitchen and a box full of lawn games. But since going on an adventure is all about embracing local treats, their food and drink is something to get so excited about. With locally sourced and seasonally inspired menus to enjoy, you can have a meal at your tent or take a short stroll over to the amazing dining space in Kingshill Barn or on warm summer evenings enjoy dinner and cocktails al fresco. The bell tents are made for comfort with each coming with a proper double bed with a comfy mattress, hot water bottles from Romney Marsh wool, towels, private fire pit and Adirondack chairs (perfect for leaning back to star gaze!). If you're in the woodland tents, then they come with a hammock or tree swing! And of course, rechargable lanterns for your kids to enjoy sharing those late night stories tucked under the duvet!
I adored capturing the essence of this recently creating relaxed lifestyle images and a 30 Second Story - part of my new Energy in Motion Video offering which you can find out more about by clicking here.
