Fieldcraft at
the Wild Edges
Nature photography learning in liminal light
1-2-1 mentoring
About the session
Fieldcraft at the wild edges is a one-to-one learning session focused on working creatively in transitional moments. Dawn and dusk. Incoming and outgoing tide. Weather shifts, pauses and thresholds where the landscape is changing and attention matters most.
This session is about learning how to read the elements, light and landscape so that you can work with what is present and responsive rather than forcing outcomes. It centres field awareness, timing and sensitivity as core photographic skills.
The wild edges are where stories gather. This session helps you learn how to notice them.

What we explore together
Each session is shaped around conditions on the day, but may include:

Reading light at dawn or dusk

Finding the wonder and awe in transitional weather

Understanding tides, shoreline movement and timing

Working creatively with uncertainty and change

Positioning, movement and awareness in dynamic environments

Developing confidence to respond rather than react

This is fieldcraft as a way of seeing and a way of being with nature.
