Holiday & Residential Park
Lifestyle Photography
Case Study – Allens Caravans

one of the UK’s most respected
family-run park operators
Allens Caravans
With nearly a century of heritage and a fourth-generation team who have built something rare in this industry: Allens Caravans has a genuine culture of belonging. Their holiday and residential parks across the Midlands and Wales are places where people put down roots, where friendships form across seasons, where the owners themselves are present, on site and the team is invested in the lives of the people who live and stay there generation after generation. When Allens commissioned me to capture holiday park photography across five of their parks, the brief was clear:
The images needed to carry the spirit of the places, as well as the warmth of the communities and the quality of the homes and landscapes and nature their owners love. Therefore, each park needed its own identity that reflected the energy and the individuality of the location.
This project was rooted in authentic storytelling to capture the lifestyle photos and videos of each residential estate.
“WOW! I don’t even know where to start…Everyone is beyond pleased! The storytelling, light, range of images and just emotion in the shots is astounding!”

The Process
What stays with me from this holiday park photography project is the people. Not just the landscapes, though each one was extraordinary in its own way. The Allens team, both at the centre and on site at each park, are people who genuinely love what they do and who know their places with the kind of depth that only comes from that authentic dedication.
In doing so, this knowledge became part of the creative. At each holiday park, the on-site teams knew which corner caught the evening light, which path the residents walked at sunrise, as well as which views anchor people’s decision to make this their home. They brought this to the shoot with enthusiasm and generosity, and the images carry unique qualities because they were created in partnership with people and place.
Building photography shoot plans around the light at five distinct holiday park locations across two countries required trust on both sides, and that trust was established quickly. When a creative team already understands why the quality of morning light lifting in the east over the countryside or last light on a west facing Welsh bay is worth waiting for, the work becomes something different. It becomes a collaboration.

Deliverables
For each of the five holiday parks, I built a bespoke visual story aligned to the identity of the sites, as well as the community within it.
Planning photography at each holiday park location began with the light: aligning to the times of day, as well as the qualities of light to reveal each landscape at its most honest and its most beautiful. The in-house creative team at Allens were a genuine creative collaboration throughout, bringing deep knowledge of their holiday parks and their people. In doing so, their enthusiasm found its way into every photography frame.
“We are so grateful for your time and dedication on the shoot as you worked so hard. Truly in awe and just want you to know how much we appreciate your work.”
