I am obsessed with weather!
It’s a constant source of intelligence and enchantment and I am enchanted by Meteorology photography. Tuning into the atmosphere allows us to tap into a vast network of hidden messages waiting to be deciphered. Each cloud formation and every shift in wind direction, shares a story about the intricate workings of our planet.
When we immerse ourselves in observing the weather, it’s not just about predicting rain or sunshine, it’s about understanding the deeper rhythms of nature, the seasons, the patterns and how they influence our lives.
For me, moments of elemental connection are filled with dopamine-inducing awe, the thrill of witnessing something unfurling and sensing the liminality of it gives me a full body rush. These are the moments where you’ll see me running out part way through a meal to capture how light paints across the sky or squealing at a soul passing by ‘wowee look at the skyyyyy’.
Each moment like this feels like unlocking a secret of the universe. There are so many meteorological phenomena I dream of witnessing and I find it utterly thrilling when something unfolds around you when you least expect it.
We are shaped by the elements
Weaving the elements into my landscape, nature and meteorology photography is at the heart of all that I do. Weather is ever present when I shoot, it is part of the narrative. How light paints across the scene, how wind shapes what it meets be it the lean of the tree or how a person’s hair moves in the breeze, I live for experiencing these fleeting, magickal moments and most of all I adore sharing them with others. Because fostering a deeper appreciation for the intelligence and beauty woven into the fabric of our atmosphere allows us to live as part of it all.
This innate connection has earned me the title of ‘weather witch’ amongst my branding clients, who experience the joy of how I create in the alchemy of the moment with weather and light unfolding around us.

As the climate emergency unfolds and ‘rare’ or ‘extreme’ weather events are starting to become normalised as weather. Being more aware of these changes can help to see newer patterns emerging and inform us to take action to protect people and planet.

Why is meteorology so fascinating?
Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere, focusing on the processes and phenomena that drive weather and climate. It involves analysing dynamic and ever changing data about temperature, humidity, wind patterns, precipitation and air pressure to understand and predict weather conditions. It is part of our everyday life, it helps us prepare for day to day weather and alerts us to severe weather like storms, heat waves and cold snaps.
We can all look at a forecast online but the real magick can be found in learning to read weather, looking to the skies and attuning our senses to the atmosphere and the elements. There is so much information right in front of us and the more we learn to understand what it means, the deeper our connect to the planet gets to be.
