Whale watching with Láki Tours in Hólmavík, Iceland, is pure magick and this short-form video story captures adventuring out onto the fjord sharing the excitement and awe you get to experience on the trip.
Led by naturalist and passionate whale expert Judith Scott. Her deep love and respect for these majestic creatures make this the most ethical whale-watching experience imaginable.

Ocean storytelling
Short form video stories
from shore, sea & sky
The ocean is a storyteller, whispering its myths through shifting tides, storm-lashed cliffs, and the majesty of creatures below the surface. Through short-form video, I capture these liminal moments, where the wild edges of shore, sea, and sky blur. From the pull of the waves to the hush of the open water, these stories are portals of connection, curiosity, and wonder. Whether from the depths, the surface, or the air above, each frame is a call to rewild our senses and see the ocean anew.
The Freezing sea
Camber Holiday cottages
camber sands winter sunrise
Winter has a way of disarming you in unexpected moments of wonder, with it’s in the quiet, raw beauty of its wildest moments. Capturing the freezing sea at Camber Sands at sunrise one freezing morning in early January revealed a side of the coast that few ever witness, evoking a sense of absolutely amazement.
Storytelling through video allows us to share these fleeting, atmospheric scenes, inviting travellers to rethink winter escapes not just as a time to retreat indoors, but as a season of transformation, light, and unexpected beauty.
At the heart of destination marketing is the power to evoke emotion and connection. This moment, the sea beginning to freeze, mist rising in golden light, transports viewers into the story of the place. By showcasing destinations in their truest, most soulful form across all seasons, we inspire a deeper appreciation and curiosity, positioning places not just as locations but as experiences waiting to be felt.

Visual storytelling for change
BEHIND THE SCENES WITH WHALE WISE
Visual storytelling is one of the most powerful tools for environmental and conservation organisations and charities. When people see the work being done, whether it’s whale research in the field, the impact of human activity on marine life, or the beauty of a thriving ecosystem, it creates a tangible connection.
Storytelling short-form videos weave together documenting your efforts, your people, our planet, in an emotive way that empowers advocacy, education, by igniting curiosity and inspiring awakened action.
By sharing your work through compelling video content, you can communicate complex issues in an accessible way, foster deeper engagement during outreach and strengthen your ability to attract funding and support from those who feel emotionally invested in your mission.
When people see and feel the story, they are far more likely to care, share, and take action.
ocean advocacy
During field season, I got to witness the depth and dedication behind the pioneering work of Whale Wise.
From engaging talks at universities that educate and inspire, to Whales on the Go, where the team connects with the public in real-time during field research, this visual story illuminates the importance of their mission.
I’ve followed their drone data collection sessions, where precision and patience come together to gather footage of the whales and their tail flukes to ID them as they dive so they can monitor whale body condition.
On days where data collection isn’t possible, their focus shifts to lengthy data analysis, where each frame holds vital insights into the health of these incredible animals.

Aurora timelapses
Creating an aurora timelapse is both an art and a technical challenge, requiring patience, planning, and a deep understanding of light, movement, and the night sky. Unlike a single aurora photograph, a timelapse stitches together hundreds or even thousands of frames, capturing the dynamic dance of the lights as they ripple, twist, and cascade across the heavens. The goal is not just to document the aurora but to reveal its full motion—something our eyes can only partially perceive in real time.
The process begins long before the first frame is shot. Tracking solar activity, checking geomagnetic forecasts, and scouting the perfect dark-sky location are all crucial steps. Once on location, setting up the camera requires precise exposure settings, a sturdy tripod to prevent movement, and an interval timer to capture a frame every few seconds over a long period. The challenge is balancing ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to let in enough light without overexposing, all while maintaining the sharpness of the stars and the clarity of the aurora’s shape.
As the aurora unfolds, the camera shutter is locked, working away, capturing a story that spans hours, reducing it into seconds of motion. The real magic happens in post-production, where the frames are carefully aligned, processed, and rendered into a seamless video. Enhancing contrast, reducing noise, and refining colours ensures that the final timelapse remains true to the vivid, ethereal experience of witnessing the aurora in person. When done right, an aurora timelapse invites the viewer into the rhythm of the cosmos, allowing them to witness a celestial ballet that is both fleeting and eternal.
Aurora timelapses are not just mesmerising to watch—they’re a powerful storytelling tool for noctourism accommodations, experiences, and destinations. Used as section breakers on websites, they create a sense of atmosphere, drawing visitors into the magic of the night and setting the tone for immersive after-dark stays.
Different sections of a timelapse can also be repurposed into short-form video content for social media, showcasing the awe-inspiring beauty of a location at night while inviting travellers to experience it for themselves.
Whether it’s capturing the northern lights, star-studded skies, or the moonlit landscape, these videos connect people to the night in a way that still photography alone cannot.
If you’re looking to bring the magic of the night sky into your brand storytelling, I can work with you to capture and create nocturnal visual narratives that evoke wonder and connection.
From full-length timelapses for websites to shorter, engaging clips for social media, I can help shape a visual experience that invites guests to step into the darkness and discover the beauty that unfolds after sundown.
Let’s tell the story of your night sky, one frame at a time.
Story-Driven Content Creation
Bringing Products & Experiences to Life
Whether capturing the essence of a product in its natural environment or immersing viewers in the experience of a place, I shoot with a narrative-first approach. By blending storytelling with practical insight and captivating visuals, I craft short-form videos that do more than showcase; they invite.
I specialise in distilling complex ideas, like chasing the aurora, into accessible, shareable content, transforming moments into stories that resonate. Through movement, pacing, and sensory-rich details, I create content that not only educates but sparks curiosity—drawing audiences into the experience itself.
From the textures of a windswept landscape to the rhythm of the tides, every shot is intentional, evoking emotion and connection.
Content with story at the heart invites people over a threshold, welcoming them to step into your world before they’ve experienced your product or service.

dryrobe® X
Whale Wise
For this video, I provided full production from concept to final edit, shaping a compelling storytelling piece that brought the work of Whale Wise and their collaboration dryrobe® to life. I began by crafting the narrative arc, ensuring the story would resonate emotionally while highlighting the reality of fieldwork in Iceland’s wild conditions.
From the first draft of the idea, I focused on the elements that would immerse the audience, the rawness of the landscape, the dedication of the team, and the power of their research.
I directed and shot the footage, blending perspectives from earth and sky to create a dynamic visual experience. Using a mix of handheld and drone footage and capturing audio, I wove together scenes that shared the scale of the environment, the movement of the team and the humpbacks from above, balancing the challenge of the ever-changing Icelandic weather, all of which shape their research.
Once filmed, I captured snippets of voice over audio, edited the final piece, carefully layering sound, pacing and transitions to draw the viewer into the world of Whale Wise and how their dryrobes protect them in the field.
The completed video was shared as a collaborative post on instagram between dryrobe® and Whale Wise, demonstrating how essential the right kit is for conservation fieldwork in extreme conditions while inviting audiences to connect with the mission behind the work.
Together, let’s illuminate the wild edges and liminal space where myth, magick and intellect meet, to amplify nature’s messages & messengers

The instax WIDE Evo launch content
It was such a joy to be commissioned by instax UK to shoot with their new instax WIDE Evo ahead of their launch of the camera. The brief challenged me to capture wildlife, nature and macro images with this camera and I travelled into subzero conditions from Tromsø to Iceland to test it out and create this content.
I delivered a full service production on this project, building three creative concepts for the shoot, booking the international travel, adapting to changing weather conditions in the Arctic. I was able to capture some unique moments and details of the winter landscapes using my knowledge of locations and behaviour of wildlife to be able to predict encounters to capture a rich diversity of shots in deep winter.
Photography has always been a portal into adventure, a way to distil fleeting moments into something tangible. The instax WIDE Evo bridges nostalgia with modern creativity. Offering instant film prints that hold the essence of what it feels like to be immersed in the moment of an experience revealed just how liberating it is for storytelling in the wild.

Elmley Nature Reserve
ESCAPE TO NATURE. STAY, DINE & ENJOY THIS VAST WILDERNESS
Experiencing the tranquil beauty of summer at Elmley Nature Reserve is quite simply a breathtaking moment. In this video, I capture the magic of sunrise as it lifts over the vast landscape, golden light flooding over lush green marshes, illuminating every blade of grass and casting a soft glow across the reserve as the wild inhabitants bring such joy in their encounters with them. Elmley’s nature-connected accommodation offers a front-row seat to nature’s rhythms, allowing guests to wake with the dawn chorus and witness the marsh come alive in the golden hour.
Elmley is a sanctuary year-round, where winter stays bring their own kind of magick. There’s something deeply joyful about sinking into a steaming outdoor bath by candlelight, wrapped in the hum of the marsh, or gathering around a fire pit under a sky ablaze with stars. Inside, warmth and comfort envelop you, with puddings in bed, a steaming mug of tea misting the air, and a book in hand, all while gazing across the sweeping winter landscape.
Whether in the height of summer or the hum of winter’s migrating visitors, Elmley offers a space to slow down, reconnect, and soak in the beauty of the wild. These video brings you into the heart of a summer sunrise at Elmley, and the cosy hygge vibes of a stay in midwinter. The videos feature a mix of aerial drone footage with intimate, grounded moments captured on my cameras, an invitation to experience the marsh through every season and a key asset to market the experience of a stay.
I’m on a mission to rewild our connection to nature through story, to ignite collective curiosity and awe and empower awakened action to heal people & planet.
visual stories of earth, sea & sky
Translating nature’s messages
rare phenomenon
There’s a certain magic in witnessing a rare meteorological event—one that stops you in your tracks and leaves you in awe of the world’s quiet, unfolding wonders. But these moments are not entirely random; they are messages written in the sky, waiting to be read. Learning to understand the language of weather transforms the way we experience the natural world.
When I saw advection fog mimicking orographic fog in Broadstairs, rolling over the cliffs as if the land itself was breathing, I knew it was a moment shaped by the unique conditions of sea air meeting cooler land.
Similarly, standing on the clifftops in Ramsgate, I was met with something even rarer—a fog bow and a Brocken spectre, ethereal phenomena that only appear when sunlight interacts with tiny water droplets suspended in mist. These moments aren’t just lucky encounters; they’re experiences shaped by knowing when and where to look.
Beyond witnessing these wonders from the ground, I use drone and video to unlock hidden perspectives only visible from the air. A fog bank moving over the coastline takes on an entirely different shape from above, revealing the way mist curls and flows over the landscape like a living entity. A Brocken spectre, a ghostly shadow cast onto the fog with a halo of light, becomes even more surreal when viewed from a shifting aerial perspective.
By combining meteorological knowledge with creative storytelling, I don’t just capture these fleeting moments, I translate them into visual narratives that bring people into the wonder of the unseen, inviting them to look closer, to ask questions, and to rekindle their sense of curiosity about the world around them.
