Wired for wonder
Life through my neurodivergent lens

Living at the wild edge
I move through the world with an autistic and ADHD brain, a way of being that has always placed me at the edges, in the liminal spaces where I feel most alive. For years I didn’t have the language for this, but I lived life differently, my experience in plain view, the constant hum of curiosity, the need to question, the deep pattern-spotting and the flood of ideas that arrive in unexpected ways.
Living at this wild edge shapes everything I do. It fuels my creativity, my photography, my way of seeing, my storytelling. It helps me see connections others might miss, notice details hidden in plain sight, and translate the messages of nature into images and stories that spark awe and ignite awakened action.
This isn’t a “superpower” narrative, nor is it deficit-based. It is simply a different operating system, one that has taught me to live unmasked and unapologetically, and to share the world as I sense it.

The power of storytelling
Someone else’s story once lit a quiet truth in me I had never named. It disrupted my narrative and opened a whole new way of being.
This is what story can do. It meets us where we are, walks us over a threshold, and invites a remembering of our belonging.
My work lives here, where image and word carry that spark, where sharing my story illuminates yours and the ripples become action.

My story
In lockdown, the world stopped. The things I would busy myself with were out of reach and I was sat with myself for 23 hours a day. And then I saw someone close to me share part of their story and it utterly unravelled all I thought I knew about myself. Roll forward to December 2021, a diagnosis of ADHD entered my life, a naming of the restless hum I had always carried. At the end of that assessment, the psychiatrist spoke of referring me for an autism assessment, planting a seed that would take root over the years that followed. In July 2024, that seed unfurled into a diagnosis.
A turning point, a new lens to witness myself with clarity, compassion and deep understanding. They revealed why I have always lived at the edges, where the world feels alive with detail and possibility. Why the wild edges have always felt like home.
This was a homecoming, a remembering of who I have always been, and an awakening to the cellular fizz, the portals of deep curiosity, a map to chart the liminal way I navigate the world. The story shared by one soul, igniting a new narrative for another as something remembered wakes.

How I hold this work
These are my reflections and my story. If you’ve met one neurodivergent person, you’ve met one neurodivergent person.
My words are told through my lens and like every photograph, they capture one perspective of a much bigger picture.
We are not linear, we are multifaceted. What is possible one day might not be the next. Nothing is fixed, everything is relational to our inner and outer landscapes. Take what speaks to you, leave the rest.
I invite you to arrive here with openness and kindness, because it is time to awaken our curiosity.

Special interests
Curiosity is my compass and special interests are the constellations it leads me to.
Special interests are thrilling portals. I step through and the world reveals its deep textures, calling me to immerse until every layer reveals itself.
I linger in the detail, learn the science, feel the nuance and hold the polarity of the moment.
Seabirds in spiral flight, aurora written by solar wind carried across our universe, weather weaving elemental connection to our atmosphere, stories mapping our place in it all.
These are lifelines honoured. Foundations.
The fertile grounds that nourish my intuition to attune my wisdom to live and create from.

Hyperfocus
A little like a lose thread in a jumper, once you pull at something and hyperfocus grips, everything else unravels into insignificance as you follow the thread.
So often this thread calls me to meet a wild edge, maybe one within my inner landscape or one that we can physically place ourselves at.
Time softens into irrelevance. Noise drops away.
My attention becomes so heightened, I see the patterns, the alchemy of fleeting light, the things perhaps might go unnoticed, when not so attuned to the present moment.
The potentiality of ideas braid together and that electric moment of the epiphany and meaning arrives.
Hyperfocus is how I translate wonder and awe, how I move from sensing to shaping, how I connect with the wild edges of earth, sky and sea.

Cellular level fizz
Then there is the charge.
The hum under the skin, pulsing like a current, when I am in it, fully. It feels so electric, it is like it has its own frequency.
Light chasing across subzero landscapes, tracking a soaring gannet through the view finder waiting for that profound moment it rapidly turns to dive, a line in a book that unlocks a whole cascade of thought, I’m entangled in the free flow of ideas it has sparked.
This is dopamine. A current that reverberates it almost zings, like every cell is evangelising about the thrill of the sense of belonging to the moment. It fizzes at a cellular level and I create from that frequency. This for me is the alchemy of a brain like mine.
And so to distil the alchemy of the fizz, I take photos, so I can make sense of it all and process it later.

Work with me
I welcome invitations to collaborate through talks and podcasts, writing, exhibitions and partnerships that value the perspective I bring as a neurodivergent creative. Sharing my story takes energy and care, and I honour that by working in spaces where this contribution is recognised and remunerated.
Or perhaps you’re neurodivergent yourself, drawn to create images that feel radically authentic and translate both your story and the work that you do. If you’re curious about co-creating a shoot that honours who you are, you can explore my photography offerings here.
If you’d like to explore possibilities together, I’d love to hear from you.

Liminal
Being
I live at the threshold—between worlds, states and possibilities. As someone with AuDHD, I feel like I am forever balancing the fiery yang of ADHD and the gentle yin of autism: always becoming, always in motion. My brain doesn’t work in straight lines, it weaves, senses, processes. And it is in this liminal space that I find my power to witness, translate and celebrate the wild edges of story, nature and connection.
