What topics do you speak and write about?
My work explores the relationships between people, place and planet through the lens of visual storytelling.
Current topics include storytelling, curiosity, photography, conservation, destination storytelling, the ocean, wildlife, climate, sensory perception, neurodiversity, creativity and the role stories play in shaping how we see and care for the world.
Every talk is tailored to the audience. Whether that’s photographers, conservation organisations, tourism professionals, creative businesses or the general public.
who are your talks for?
I’ve spoken to audiences ranging from photography festivals and camera shows to conservation charities, universities, community organisations and corporate events.
Whether I’m speaking to 20 people or several hundred, my aim is always the same: to leave audiences seeing something differently than they did when they arrived.
Can you tailor a talk for our audience?
Every audience is different. So I never deliver exactly the same talk twice. I’ll work with you to understand your audience, objectives and event theme, adapting both the content and examples to ensure the session feels relevant and engaging.
Do you deliver keynote talks, workshops or panel discussions?
Yes. Alongside keynote presentations, I’m available for workshops, panel discussions, interviews, fireside conversations, podcast appearances and media contributions.
My background in education, photography and conservation allows me to adapt my style to suit a wide range of audiences and formats.
do you run practical workshops?
Yes. Before becoming a full-time photographer, I spent five years teaching in higher education and hold a Certificate in Education (Cert Ed). That experience continues to shape how I teach today.
My workshops combine practical knowledge with curiosity and discussion, creating space for people not only to learn new skills but to think differently about storytelling, creativity and the world around them.
Can you speak about your own projects and expeditions?
Yes. Many of my talks draw on first-hand experiences from conservation fieldwork, documentary assignments and long-term personal projects, offering audiences a behind-the-scenes insight into the stories, challenges and discoveries that have shaped my work.
planning
Can we speak before the event?
Of course. Every booking begins with a conversation. We’ll discuss your audience, event objectives, timings and logistics so I can tailor the session to your event and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
do you travel?
Yes. I’m based in Kent but regularly travel throughout the UK and internationally for speaking engagements, workshops, media appearances and conferences.
do you provide online talks?
Yes. I’m available for both in-person and online events, including webinars, virtual conferences, podcasts and live-streamed discussions.
what do you need on the day?
Every event is different. So I’ll confirm any technical requirements in advance.
Most talks simply require a projector or large screen, HDMI connection, clicker and microphone appropriate to the venue. If anything more specific is needed, I’ll include it in my speaker information pack.
media
Are you available for interviews and media commentary?
Yes. I’m available for television, radio, podcasts, print and online media. Offering thoughtful commentary on photography, visual storytelling, conservation, tourism, wildlife, weather and environmental issues where they intersect with my work and experience.
Can you write commissioned articles or essays?
I love writing. I’ve written features, essays and editorial content exploring the relationships between people, place and planet. Drawing on field experience, photography and research to tell stories that inform, inspire and encourage deeper connection.
Do you provide photography or video alongside editorial commissions?
Yes. Many commissions combine writing with photography, filmmaking or drone imagery, allowing stories to be told through both words and visuals while maintaining a consistent editorial voice.
booking
how do we book you?
Simply get in touch through my contact form or pop me an email with a few details about your event, publication or project.
From there, we’ll arrange a conversation to discuss your audience, objectives, format and timings before I prepare a bespoke proposal.
Why do photography, conservation and storytelling sit alongside each other in your work?
For me, they’re all part of the same conversation.
Photography helps us notice. Storytelling helps us understand. Conservation begins when we care enough to protect what we’ve come to know.
Whether I’m standing on a stage, writing an essay or documenting humpback whales in Iceland, I’m exploring the same question: how can stories deepen our connection to people, place and planet?
