The rise of purpose-led business: How visual storytelling ignites change

By illuminating the liminal space where myth, magick and intellect meet, we ignite collective curiosity, enchantment and awe to empower the healing of people and planet. As a purpose-led business, once gripped by the trappings of a cultural narrative and lured by the myth of more, I became consumed by consumerism. And yet what was rising in me was a lot of ‘dis–’.

Until one day, someone shared their story and in doing so ruptured my heart and soul wide open. In its wake, dismantling all I thought I knew. I couldn’t live by those narratives anymore.

It was the beginning of a homecoming. I embraced my deep connection to the sea, the weather and the cosmos. As the boundaries between nature and I softened, it birthed an awakening.

We are nature and nature is us.

Illuminating purpose-led business stories through multiple lenses

As a radically authentic visual storyteller, my soul’s calling is to illuminate and amplify nature’s messages and messengers through a unique blend of photography, videography, writing and speaking. Each medium offers its own way of touching hearts and inspiring action.

With a degree in Geography and masters study in Marine Resource Management, I bring both scientific understanding and creative vision to my conservation and environmental photography. From the Scottish Highlands to the Arctic waters of Norway, my lens captures the delicate interplay between human activity and natural systems which we are part of.

Through thoughtful visual storytelling, we transform complex environmental issues into tangible stories that resonate with diverse audiences. These images create emotional connections that bridge the gap between scientific understanding and public action. In doing so, providing valuable documentation for research while showcasing successful environmental initiatives that light the way toward positive change as a purpose-led business.

Video adds another dimension to storytelling. Bringing movement and energy to conservation narratives. 

Through carefully crafted short-form video content, I capture the essence of a purpose-led business or brand and document conservation initiatives in action. These dynamic stories share intimate behind-the-scenes moments that build genuine connection with audiences. As well as creating compelling narratives that inspire meaningful action.

A unique perspective: Drone photography

Drone photography reveals our world from perspectives previously unimagined. Unveiling patterns and connections invisible from the ground. 

This aerial viewpoint allows us to document coastal erosion and environmental changes with unprecedented clarity. While offering new ways to monitor wildlife populations and capture the true scale of conservation efforts.

A unique vision

As an AuDHDer (read my musings on this, here), my neurodivergent brain dances an ephemeral line of duality, between order and chaos. I live life with an internal wild edge. A liminal space that has become my greatest asset; the alchemy in my storytelling. 

I have a deep, sixth sense connection to nature which infuses my creativity and vision with unique and vibrant energy, guiding everything I do. It helps me plan shoots around natural rhythms and light. As well as anticipate nature’s behaviour and movement, and find unexpected angles and perspectives. 

I believe we’ve lost the simple thrill of awe and enchantment. And by reigniting and rewilding our connection to nature, our curiosity rekindles this wonder and empower us to care more deeply about nature. 

Through my work with purpose-led businesses and brands, conservation initiatives and destination marketing organisations, I’ve seen how authentic visual storytelling creates profound impact. It illuminates hidden truths by capturing both the beauty and challenges of our natural world. Making invisible issues visible and immediate.

My photography work spans from the depths of cold waters to the heights of the sky, always with nature at its heart. I document wildlife in their natural habitats, capture the delicate relationships between earth, sea and sky, and tell the stories of environmental initiatives making real change.
