THE MAGIC OF CIRCLES: Creating space for connection and empowerment

There’s something undeniably magickal about Circles. I’ve felt their power and I’m sure many of you have too. Throughout history and across cultures, grounding Circles have represented unity, wholeness and the cyclical nature of life. 

As someone who has always been drawn to this symbolism, I find profound meaning in crossing the threshold into a Circle. Especially when it brings together a collective of women. In these sacred spaces, we can voice our hopes, dreams and vulnerabilities without fear or judgement. That’s why at The Gathering – a brand shoot with soulful sisterhood, community and connection at its heart – we always begin in Circle.

The power of gathering in circle

My inner landscape changes when I cross the threshold into a grounding Circle. It’s incredibly powerful. Allowing you to connect your feet to the Earth. It is an opportunity to just be – releasing the nerves, the pressure, the expectations. You feel anchored and nurtured by the land as you reconnect with Mother Earth, your heart and your purpose. The potential that emerges when like-minded women gather is truly epic. When we gather in Circle at The Gathering, we’re not just a group of individuals; we become a unified force of collective intention.

But what makes them so powerful? Here’s why:

A safe space for expression: A Circle provides a trusted space where each woman can share her thoughts and feelings openly. There are no corners to hide in; everyone is seen and heard. Instilling a sense of safety and acceptance.

A symbol for equality: In a Circle, there’s no hierarchy. Everyone is equal. Circles are a space where genuine connection flows.

A moment for connection and support: Circles naturally facilitate bonding. It is a space for deep listening. The simple act of being seen and heard is a powerful one.

Grounded in ritual and presence: Starting our gatherings in a Circle invites each woman to be fully present. This practice grounds us and sets a tone of intentionality for the time we spend together.

The benefits of gathering in Circle

Gathering in Circle has had such a powerful, if not profound, effect on my own life that I felt compelled to share this opportunity with the women in my world. It led me to gain Circle Facilitation Training with Sister Stories, deepening how I can hold space for you. On Thursday 29 August, as time in nature bathes us in its ethereal glow of golden hour, amongst the wildflowers of Denstroude Flower Farm, we’ll embark on a journey of pure magick and connection. I will capture radically authentic images to support you in the powerful work you do during this brand shoot. You’ll join a collective of soulful sisters as we gather to ground before rediscovering the essence of who we are.

The grounding Circle

The grounding Circle is the beginning of our shared journey. Through this immersive journey together, we get to co-create in the moment. Where you can feel radically, authentically like yourself, showing up just as you are and creating images that truly tell your story. This grounding opening creates a safe space. A moment for us to connect and ground before we rise to gather flowers, experience the magick of sisterhood. All beautifully wrapped in a brand shoot. We’ll tune into the present. Aligning ourselves with the Earth below and the sky above to create an energy field that not only calms nerves but also emboldens you to step into your visibility.

Our Circle host for The Gathering

Our Circle will be led by Crystal, a Sober Yoga Teacher, Sound Healer and Retreat Facilitator who leaned on mindfulness and yoga to get to know herself and heal after a challenging period in her life. Crystal is a strong advocate for holistic wellbeing and, having left her corporate career behind, understands the importance of finding strength and balance in everyday life. In a world more disconnected than ever before, her mission now is to unveil the power of connection and community for the everyday individual.

Crystal says: “With deep roots in ancient history, Women’s Circles provide us with the opportunity to lean into one another, connect, listen, and share. This Circle, taking place in summer, is an invitation to celebrate everything around us in full bloom. As we lean into celebration and gratitude – for ourselves, for nature, for the nourishing and enriching light of the sun, and for the light within each of us. Expect gentle movement and meditation, an energy cleansing ritual, and intention setting.
