Thanet, a peninsula on the east Kent coast, is surrounded by the sea to the north, east and south. Just over an hour from London by road or rail, it holds a rare coastal diversity. I grew up here, and now work from my studio just above the sea. From my desk, I can look out across the horizon to France. This view — ever-changing from sunrise to sunset — offers a grounding presence that continues to shape my creativity, photography and storytelling.

On a clear day, you can see all the way to France. It’s a beautiful reminder of our proximity to the wider world and the constant presence of the sea as a threshold between places.
