Pierremont Park – a green oasis in the heart of Broadstairs
Thanet is know for the rolling coastline and golden sands but we also have some lovely parks and Pierremont Park is one of them. Sitting at the top of Broadstairs High Street, it has small areas of woodland. That open out into grassed areas, wide skies and a gentle sense of pause.
For me, Pierremont Park is a place of soft reset. A few minutes here can shift everything. The nervous system settles, watching the squirrels chase each other through the trees and the birds landing. Our attention returns to what is real.

What the landscape is like
Pierremont Park is a small, open green space with established planted areas and paths through. It has a simple, unfussy feel.

Light and seasonal shifts
Best light: early morning for clean, quiet light, and late afternoon for warmer tones and longer shadows.
In winter and shoulder seasons, Pierremont Park can feel especially spacious, with crisp air and dramatic skies. In summer, it becomes a gentle meeting place, a green pause above the bustle of the High Street.
If we are photographing at Pierremont Park, we can lean into subtlety. Wind in the trees, a silhouette against sea haze, the way the horizon steadies the whole frame.

Practical notes
Access: easy access from Broadstairs High Street, mostly level paths with gentle gradients.
Facilities: cafés, shops and toilets are nearby in Broadstairs town centre.
Parking: pay and display and on-street parking is available around Broadstairs, best to allow time in peak season.
Quiet moments: early mornings and weekdays tend to feel most spacious, especially in summer.
Why Pierremont Park matters for storytelling
Pierremont is perfect for stories that need calm and connection to green spaces. It suits founders, makers and purpose-led brands who want visuals that feel human, grounded and connected to place, without forcing anything.
It also works beautifully as a starting point. We can begin here, let the nervous system settle, then move down toward the coast for cliff edges, harbour light and sea-level texture.

About me
Hey my love, I’m Rebecca. A visual storyteller, unleashing the power of photo and video to rewilding our connection to nature. I am also an AuDHD – an autistic ADHDer.
By illuminating the liminal space where myth, magick and intellect meet, we ignite collective curiosity, enchantment and awe to empower the healing of people and planet.
My work as a photographer and ocean storyteller has taken me from the wild coasts of Scotland to the wild edges of Iceland.
It was with immense gratitude and a sense of deepening purpose that a story I captured gain 2nd Place in the Conservation (Impact) category for Ocean Photographer of the Year 2024.
As President of the Board of Trustees for Whale Wise and a Marine Mammal Medic with BDMLR, I advocate for our blue planet through powerful visuals and purpose-driven narratives.
